Guitarra Portraits
Guitarra Magazine produced a stereophonic weekly FM radio programme in Chicago called "Guitarra Portraits" dedicated to flamenco and classical guitar music. Each week it would feature a different artist. The show used Andres Segovia's rendition of "Capricho Árabe" as the theme song for the show. The programme was sponsored, produced, and directed by Guitarra Magazine (published by Antigua Casa Sherry-Brener Inc.). The show featured live performances in addition to interviews, historical information and album tracks, especially from new releases. The programme would air at 9:30pm every Sunday evening on WXFM 105.9 Chicago. It was generally 30 minutes long.
The show featured great players such as Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, John Williams, Pomponio-Zarate duo, Renata Tarrago, Sabicas, Carlos Montoya and Juan Serrano.
